Video: Gerrard Blames Pittodrie Pitch For Rangers’ Slow Start Against Aberdeen

Rangers were forced to make-do with a 1-1 draw at Pittodrie this afternoon against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup, with Steven Gerrard pointing the finger at the Dons’ pitch for his side’s slow start.

Aberdeen came flying out of the traps early on and were soon rewarded for their dominance when Connor Goldson fouled Gary Mackay-Steven inside the penalty area, leaving Sam Cosgrove to stroke the ball home from the spot.

However, Gerrard’s half-time team-talk clearly hit home with his players, as it took them just two minutes after the break to equalise through Joe Worrall, and that’s eventually how the game finished.

After the match, Gerrard admitted a draw was a fair result, but seemed annoyed about Aberdeen training on the Pittodrie pitch in the build-up to the game:

The two sides will meet once again in their quarter-final replay at Ibrox on Tuesday March 12 – but who do you think will come out on top?
