Scotland‘s Euro 2020 qualifying campaign got off to a disastrous start this afternoon in Astana as Kazakhstan romped into a 2-0 lead within the opening 10 minutes.

Having won their Nations League group with Israel and Albania last year, Scotland went into the current international break fully expecting to claim six points from six in their opening games against Kazakhstan and San Marino.

But things definitely didn’t go as planned in the opening stages of today’s game, with Yuri Pertsukh pouncing on some really slack defending to score after six minutes, before Yan Vorogovsky added a second just four minutes later:

He might of claimed victory by topping the Nations League group but the start to today’s qualifier was a timely reminder that Alex McLeish and his staff are still under serious pressure to put together a string of results.

What do you think of both goals?
