Lewis Morgan scored a nice goal as Sunderland booked their place at Wembley for the Checkatrade Trophy final at the end of the month.
Jack Ross’ men travelled to Bristol Rovers last night hoping to get the result they needed to ensure a place in the final.
And they managed that without much hassle thanks to goals from Will Grigg and Morgan.
Sunderland had struggled for goals earlier in the season, but both scorers arrived at the club in January and have helped the team produce some great results since.
Last night’s mean the Black Cats have a final to look forward to.
And for Morgan, it’s a reminder of his quality after the first half of the season was spent cutting a frustrated figure on the fringes of the Celtic team:
He will return to Celtic in the summer and have a different manager to work under after Brendan Rodgers decided to leave the club for Leicester City.
But is Morgan good enough to make an impact for the Hoops?
