Video: Virgil Van Dijk Heads Home First Champions League Goal for Liverpool

Van Dijk and his Liverpool cohorts travelled to Bavaria for tonight’s last-16 tie against Bayern Munich, with both teams having drawn 0-0 at Anfield two weeks ago.

The match was evenly poised at 1-1 as it headed into the final half-hour, with Bayern needing just one more goal to progress in-front of their own supporters but van Dijk had something else in mind.

The former Celtic centre-back rose highest in the Bayern penalty area and coolly fired a bullet header beyond the helpless Manuel Neuer:

They made the final last season before losing to Real Madrid, but with the Spaniards already eliminated could Liverpool go all the way and win this season’s Champions League under Jurgen Klopp?
