4 Big Things We Noticed About the Premiership Post-Split Fixtures

The SPFL have now released the post-split fixtures to end the season – and it’s sure to be entertaining end to the campaign.

Fans impatiently waited to find out who they would be facing after the split and they now know how the fixtures shake out:

There are big things we noticed about the post-split fixtures:

1 – Celtic Could Win League Away at Hibs

Celtic could clinch the league title this weekend against Motherwell if results go right elsewhere, but it’s more likely that they will get it done away at Hibs on the first weekend of the split. That would be significant due to Neil Lennon managing at Easter Road earlier in the season and the connection he has with their supporters.

2 – Edinburgh Derby on April 28th

Hearts and Hibs face off at Tynecastle tomorrow before then playing at Easter Road on April 28th. That’s a big one for the diaries of Hearts and Hibs supporters.

3 – Scott Brown Could Miss Old Firm

Significantly, Brown could miss two games if his Notice of Complaint is upheld at a hearing on May 2nd. That will see him absent against Hearts and then Rangers.

4 – Relegation Decider On Final Day

There’s only two points separating St Mirren and Dundee at the foot of the Premiership and it’s likely the gap will be just as tight throughout the split. If it is, the fixtures mean there could be a relegation decider on the final day when Dundee take on St Mirren at Dens Park. What an end to the season that would be.
