The Jambos travel to Ibrox tomorrow night hoping to get a big win in their pursuit of a top six spot this season.
They are currently fifth in the table on 50 points, two above rivals Hibs with seven games to go
But Motherwell are seven behind them too and it’s no guarantee that Craig Levein’s men will keep their spot in the top half.
The fitness and form of Ikpeazu will certainly help though – as he’s scored two goals in their last three games.
He was outstanding in a 2-1 win over Aberdeen at the weekend, but had to be substituted nine minutes from time after an aerial collision at his goal.
And it looks like he’s not over the injury he picked up as Levein today confirmed he’ll miss the trip to Glasgow tomorrow night.
Per heartsfc.co.uk, Levein said: “He’s good. He won’t make the Rangers game but I’m pretty confident he’ll be okay for Saturday.
“The guidelines are pretty strict. He was fine on Sunday morning when I spoke to him and he’s passed all of the tests so far, and feels good.
“I’ve left it with the medical department. They tell me everything is fine, he says he’s fine, we’re applying the strict guidelines and provided everything goes well for the rest of the week – and I don’t see why it wouldn’t – then he should be available for the Hibs match.”
That’s a big setback for Hearts going into the Rangers game, but is a boost to Rangers, who won’t have to contend with the powerful Englishman.
