Celtic Fans Furious with Appointment of Ref John Beaton for Aberdeen Clash

Referee John Beaton has been appointed as the referee for Celtic‘s potentially title-winning clash with Aberdeen this weekend – and plenty of Hoops supporters are pretty furious.

The officials hasn’t taken charge of a Celtic match since the Parkhead club’s 1-0 defeat to bitter rivals Rangers on December 29, in which the whistler came in for criticism over his role after he allowed Light Blues striker Alfredo Morelos to escape punishment over three different controversial incidents.

However, Beaton has been handed the reins for Saturday’s 12:30 kick-off at Pittodrie, in which Celtic will seal their eighth consecutive Premiership title if they manage to avoid defeat.

Despite having another league triumph within touching distance, there’s plenty of Hoops fans who are far from happy with Beaton’s inclusion:

What do you think of Beaton being put in charge of the game?

Is it really such a big deal?
