Eden Hazard Paid Tribute to His Idol Juan Román Riquelme with West Ham Celebration

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard put in a virtuoso display against West Ham lats night – and paid tribute to one of his idols Juan Román Riquelme throughout.

The Belgian scored both of his team’s goals in the 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge, with the first one of the greatest solo goals in the recent history of the Premier League, and afterwards he proceeded to cup his ears and stick his tongue out.

Unbeknown to most, Hazard wasn’t just acting spontaneously, he was actually paying his own little personal homage to ex-Barcelona and Boca Junior play-maker Riquelme.

The retired Argentine had actually sent Hazard a signed Boca shirt earlier this week, which had the following hand-written message on it:

“To the genius Hazard, regards Roman.”

The Belgian must have been buzzing to receive such a gift and felt compelled to reciprocate, but will he be replicating Riquelme’s career by moving to Spain at the end of the current season?
