Is Neil Lennon About to Draft Marvin Compper into Celtic’s Squad for St Mirren?

Neil Lennon could be about to spring a surprise for tomorrow night’s Premiership clash at St Mirren, with Marvin Compper a potential addition to his squad.

The centre-back who was once capped by Germany is probably one of the most notorious Celtic flops in modern times, having made just one solitary first-team appearance against Morton in the Scottish Cup since joining from RB Leipzig in January 2018.

The veteran defender was a £1 million signing during the Brendan Rodgers era, and is thought to be on significant weekly wages, so it seems Lennon is keen to get his money’s worth.

Compper has been playing regularly for Celtic’s Reserve side recently but he was a notable omission for this afternoon’s match against St Mirren.

With Dedryck Boyata and Kieran Tierney hobbling off injured against Rangers at the weekend, and Filip Benkovic already in the treatment room, could Compper’s omission from the reserve squad be because he’s due to make an appearance for the first-team tomorrow?
