Joey Barton Accused of Allegedly Assaulting Barnsley Boss Daniel Stendel

Fleetwood Town manager Joey Barton has been accused to allegedly assaulting Barnsley boss Daniel Stendel following the two sides’ League One fixture earlier today.

Sky Sports Soccer Saturday presenter Jeff Stelling made the claims on this afternoon’s edition of his show less than an hour after ex-Rangers and Man City midfielder Barton’s watched his Fleetwood side crash to a disappointing 4-2 reverse to Barnsley at Oakwell, as per the Sun.

Moreover, according to JOE, the Yorkshire Post are claiming the incident took place in the tunnel while the managers were making their way back to the dressing rooms after a series of pitch-side spats at the end of the six-goal encounter.

The result leaves Barnsley second in the League One table behind Luton Town, and very much in with a shout of winning promotion to next season’s Championship, whilst Barton’s Fleetwood are rooted to 11th spot.
