Jurgen Klopp’s men took one more step towards their first top-flight title in 30 years by returning to the top of the Premier League last night following a dramatic 2-1 victory at home to Tottenham.
Hugo Lloris’s howler in the 90th minute gifted the Reds all three points and sent Liverpool fans into jubilant celebrations, but the goal wasn’t the only reason they were celebrating, after some supporters thought their club was on the verge of nabbing one of European football’s most exciting young talents.
Rabiot was ‘spotted’ during the first-half sitting close to the by-line, wearing a PSG baseball cap and showing off his trademark long hair, leading many to believe the 23-year-old was on his way to Merseyside.
Rabiot is currently playing in the PSG reserves after refusing to sign a nw contract, and will be available on a free transfer this summer, but, sadly, the man at yesterday’s game wasn’t him.
According to the Sun, a Liverpool fan named Connor Deane has come forward to identify himself as the Rabiot lookalike in all of the images circulating on social media.
Oh well, Liverpool fans. It was great while it lasted!
