Roberto Martinez Becomes New Bookies Favourite for the Celtic Job

Roberto Martinez has suddenly become a front-runner for the manager’s job at Celtic Park – after bookies slashed the Spaniard’s odds on taking over from Brendan Rodgers.

The former Swansea, Wigan and Everton boss is currently in charge of Belgium’s star-studded international side and managed to guide the Red Devils to third place at last summer’s World Cup in Russia.

However, with competitive matches on the international circuit few and far between, it seems the odds compilers reckon Martinez could be tempted back into club football in the East End of Glasgow.

At the start of play this morning, Martinez was priced at 4/1 to become the next Hoops manager with Paddy Power, but a spate of bets has seen his priced reeled in to make him the current 4/6 favourite, as per the Sun.

Of course, Neil Lennon is currently in charge of the Celtic first-team and will continue to hold the reins until the end of the current campaign.

But who do you think will end up in permanent control, and how well do you think Martinez would fare in the Scottish Premiership?
