Video: Filip Benkovic Talks Emotionally About Losing ‘Inspirational’ Dad at Just Seven

Filip Benkovic opened up on losing his ‘inspirational’ dad at the age of seven.

The Celtic defender sat down with Celtic TV recently to talk Anything But Football in a fun feature.

He spoke about the kind of music he likes, who he would have at a dinner party in his house and what he would have been had he not made it at football.

But it ended on a serious note as Benkovic spoke about his biggest inspiration.

We weren’t aware the Croatian centre back lost his dad at the age of seven and you can tell he’s still emotional about that:

It’s great to see Benkovic doing so well in his career and we’re sure his father would be very proud of what he’s achieved so far.

After his big money move to Leicester last summer, the Foxes sent him to Celtic on loan to get first team games.

He’s managed to get some, appearing 26 times in all competitions.

But the centre back should have made more, unfortunately having to miss out at different stages of the season through injury.
