The Ibrox captain spoke today about the 2-1 defeat to their Glasgow rivals last week.
He believes the 13-point gap between the teams doesn’t reflect how Rangers have closed the gap on Celtic this season when it comes to the quality of each team and their best players.
Tavernier also spoke about Alfredo Morelos and his sending off after elbowing Scott Brown in last weekend’s game.
He insists the Colombian attacker is still learning and has to realise other teams will see his aggression as a weakness.
Is Tavernier right to say the gap has closed between Celtic and Rangers?
The Hoops are Betfred Cup winners, 13 points clear at the top of the Premiership table and in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup while Rangers went out of the first cup in the semis and the second in the quarters – both times at the hands of Aberdeen.
