Lewis Morgan has scored what could be a big goal for Sunderland this evening.
The Black Cats are still chasing automatic promotion back to the English Championship and will know they have to beat Doncaster to keep the pressure on at the top of League One.
They sat fourth going into this evening’s late game at the Stadium of Light, three behind Portsmouth in third, five behind Barnsley in second and seven behind leaders Luton Town.
But they have at least a game in hand on all of the teams above them so a win would move them up as they continue the push to go up.
Thanks to Morgan, they got the perfect start against Doncaster:
Morgan has been on loan at Jack Ross’ side since January and has played 15 times, but had only managed one goal going into this evening.
But it’s two now – and that could prove to be a pivotal one in the promotion battle at the top of League One.
