Tottenham scored their first-ever European goal inside their stunning new stadium tonight, with South Korean striker Son Heung-min taking the plaudits.

The North London side hosted Manchester City in this evening’s Champions League quarter-final first-leg and it was actually the first time Spurs have hosted a knockout Champions League tie in their own stadium since the visit of Real Madrid back in 2011.

It looked like it wouldn’t be the happiest of nights after just 10 minutes when Sergio Aguero stepped up to take a penalty, but Hugo Lloris was up to it, and his stop set up a famous nights under the floodlights for Spurs fans.

After Harry Kane hobbled off injured early in the second-half with a painful looking injury, Spurs needed a hero, and the man they affectionately call Sonny duly obliged:

Pretty decent strike, eh? Even if Ederson could’ve done a bit better with the save.

Can Spurs actually go all the way an win the Champions League?
