Steven Gerrard played down Dave King’s comments that Rangers are close to becoming the ‘dominant force’ in Scottish football.
The Ibrox chairman made headlines earlier this month when he stated his belief that the team are in ‘tangible reach’ of becoming the top side in Scotland.

Gerrard faced the media this afternoon ahead of Rangers’ clash with Hearts at Tynecastle tomorrow.
And he was asked about King’s bold comments – but refused to back them up and instead played down the big talk:
Gerrard obviously does appreciate the support though, as his side have impressed a lot this season despite not winning any trophies.
Their run to the Europa League group stage was a big achievement considering their European results in recent years.
And they’ve had some memorable performances in Scotland too, beating Celtic 1-0 at Ibrox in December being the highlight.
