Alfredo Morelos is Clearly Unhappy with His Colombia Copa America Snub

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos seems pretty peeved by Colombia’s decision to omit him from their Copa America squad for this summer’s tournament in Brazil.

The 22-year-old hit-man slammed home his 30th goal of the season for the Gers and has been linked with moves to the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Bordeaux throughout an impressive campaign.

However, Morelos was left out of the preliminary 40-man squad compiled by new Colombia boss Carlos Queiroz, with the ex-Manchester United coach choosing a whopping 10 striker ahead of him.

A glance at Morelos’s social media activity over the last few days definitely hints at his annoyance at the decision, and he even went as far as retweeting South American outlet Futbol Red, who compared Morelos’s stats to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi when they were his age.

Moreover, Morelos has retweeted various accounts lauding his stats and various different achievements this season, and he clearly had his heart set on representing his country on one of the biggest stages.

The 2020 edition of the Copa America is actually being hosted in Colombia, so, all being well, we’re confident Morelos can win over Queiroz and any of his other doubters by then.

What do you think of the decision to exclude him?
