Bookies Price David Moyes as the New Favourite to Takeover at Celtic

David Moyes has today been priced as the new bookies’ favourite to takeover at Celtic Park this summer, as uncertainty around the club’s managerial situation continues to grow.

Interim boss Neil Lennon has been in charge of the Hoops ever since Brendan Rodgers departed for Leicester City back in February, and helped guide the club to their eighth consecutive Premiership title.

Lennon could also get his hands on the Scottish Cup by beating Hearts at Hampden next weekend, which would represent an historic ‘treble treble’ for the Glasgow giants.

However, Lennon is no longer the favourite with bookmakers to become the permanent Celtic manager, with Oddschecker now showing Moyes as the 5/4 leader, with Rafa Benitez second-favourite at 7/2.

Perhaps surprisingly, Lennon has now been pushed out to 5/1, despite lifting the Premiership trophy yesterday, and it now seems unlikely that he’ll be handed the reins.

But is Moyes the right man to excite the Parkhead faithful? What do you think?

And who would you appoint as the next Celtic manager?
