Celtic Announce Neil Lennon Offered the Manager’s Job on Permanent Basis

Celtic have revealed Neil Lennon has been offered the club’s manager’s job on a permanent basis, following today’s Scottish Cup triumph over Hearts.

Lennon guided the Hoops to a tense 2-1 victory over the Jambos at Hampden this afternoon, thanks to a double from £9 million striker Odsonne Edouard.

The victory means Celtic have now won nine consecutive domestic trophies, and a third consecutive domestic treble, and it seems that’s enough for the club’s hierarchy to entrust Lennon with the challenge for 10 league titles in row.

In the aftermath of today’s win, the official Celtic Twitter account revealed the news, saying details of Lennon’s impending appointment would be explained in the coming days:

Lennon has lost just one match since taking over from Brendan Rodgers on an interim basis in February, but do you think he’s the right man to take Celtic forward for the long-term?

And have Celtic done the right thing by announcing the news so soon after the cup final?
