Does Former Celtic Favourite’s Retweet Suggest He Fancies Return to Club?

Could Gary Hooper be on his way back to Celtic this summer?

The English striker played his last game for Sheffield Wednesday yesterday, appearing as a substitute in a 2-1 defeat to QPR.

His contract expires this summer and he’s one of a number of players that Steve Bruce has decided to let go.

Hooper has been back in England since leaving Celtic for Norwich in 2013.

During his time at the Hoops, the striker scored 82 goals in 138 appearances to help them to two league titles and two Scottish Cups.

And he did all of that under Neil Lennon, who is favourite to become the permanent Celtic boss after taking over in a caretaker basis in February.

Could the pair link up again? Hooper seems like he might fancy it:

The bigger question is – would Celtic take Hooper back?

The Englishman is 31 now and suffered with injuries towards the end of his time at Sheffield Wednesday.

But if he can rediscover the form he had at Celtic first time around then he could be a really good signing for the Hoops.
