Rafa Benitez’s talks with Newcastle United have continued into a second day and are expected to rumble on for another 48 hours after that too.
The Spaniard is out of contract at St James’ Park following the English Premier League campaign ending.

Now they are facing the very real possibility of starting next season without Benitez – unless they can get a deal done over the coming days.
Benitez was in London yesterday meeting with Newcastle chiefs about his future and that has ran on to today.
According to Sky Sports News reporter Keith Downie, a resolution isn’t any closer – and that should come as a boost to Celtic, who are reportedly interested in making Benitez their manager this summer:
You would assume that the longer contract talks go on between Benitez and Newcastle that will provide motivation for other clubs to tempt the Spaniard away from St James’ Park.
Benitez is still favourite to take on the Hoops job permanently, with Lennon, David Moyes and Chris Hughton all coming after in the bookmakers’ odds.
