The Hoops interim boss has been in temporary charge ever since Brendan Rodgers left for Leicester City in February, and remains the bookies’ favourite to take on the job on a permanent basis.
However, this afternoon’s dismal display against their bitter Glasgow enemies wasn’t great viewing for Celtic supporters, but Lennon is remaining calm in the face of criticism that he will undoubtedly receive in the wake of today’s game.
Speaking after the full-time whistle at Ibrox, via Clyde 1, Lennon remained defiant when asked if the display might sway the Celtic hierarchy’s decision on whether he stays on after the summer, replying: “I’ve no idea, I wouldn’t have thought so.
“We have come through a lot of big games recently, meaningful games. I’m not saying this isn’t meaningful, but quarter-finals, semi-finals, league games.
“We got the title won last weekend and have a cup final to look forward to. Then maybe I will know after that.”
Of course, the likes of Rafa Benitez and Jose Mourinho have been mentioned as potential managers for next season, but what do you think of the situation?
Does Lennon still have a decent chance of landing the job on a permanent basis?
