PSG superstar Neymar has been stripped of the Brazil captaincy on the eve of the Copa America – which is to be held in his home country.
The 27-year-old former Barcelona striker was given the role eight months ago but it appears his off-field activities have rubbed manager Tite up the wrong way, with the BBC reporting that Dani Alves will lead the Brazilians in the upcoming friendlies against Qatar and Honduras.
Earlier this month, the French FA banned Neymar for three matches after he hit a fan following PSG’s defeat by Rennes in the Coupe de France final, and he was also reportedly involved in a dressing room incident with his PSG team-mates.
The Copa America takes place in Brazil from 14 June to 7 July, with the Brazilian hosts taking on Bolivia, Venezuela and Peru in the group stages, but what do you think of Neymar’s punishment?
