Chelsea took one giant step towards winning the Europa League Final tonight after being handed a second-half lead by Olivier Giroud.
The Frenchman was given the nod to start this evening’s showpiece event after leading the line for the Blues in almost every game in this competition this season, and just after half-time he headed home his 11th goal of the tournament, showing so much desire to get in-front of compatriot Laurent Koscielny:
Spaniard Pedro added a second just seven minutes later, with Eden Hazard coolly converting a penalty on 65 minutes to all but hand Chelsea the trophy, after Arsenal had looked so strong on the first-half in Baku.
What do you think of Giroud’s goal, and Chelsea’s overall performance this season?
And what would such a crushing defeat in a European final mean for Unai Emery and Arsenal as a whole ahead of next season?
