Bayern Munich Reportedly Close to Signing Celtic Youngster Liam Morrison

Celtic youngster Liam Morrison is close to signing for German giants Bayern Munich this summer, according to reports today.

The 16-year-old centre-back has been earmarked as a potential first-team star at Celtic Park for several seasons now, and the Hoops have been trying to tie him down to his first professional contract.

However, according to Football Insider and the Scotsman, Morrison is close to securing a glamorous move to Bavaria with Bundesliga champions Bayern, after impressing for the Celtic and Scotland youth teams.

Should Morrison decide to depart Glasgow and sign for Munich, Celtic will only be due a minimal compensation package, due to his age.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon is known to be in the market for a centre-back this summer, following the departures of Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic, so should he perhaps be looking at keeping Morrison as a long-term prospect?

What do you think of the situation?
