Bournemouth Comment on Ryan Fraser’s Future Amid Links to Arsenal

Bournemouth have commented on Ryan Fraser’s future amid links with a move to Arsenal this summer.

The Scotland international is enjoying his summer holidays after a great season with the English Premier League outfit.

Fraser scored eight goals and made 14 assists in 42 appearances for Eddie Howe’s side and pitched in with a goal and three assists in five games for Scotland.

And that’s led to Fraser being linked with a move to Arsenal, according to The Mirror.

The former Aberdeen winger has 12 months remaining on his Bournemouth contract and has so far not agreed an extension.

Now the Cherries have released an official statement, via, detailing their take on Fraser.

The statement read: “Much has been written and spoken about the future of Ryan Fraser, as his contract with AFC Bournemouth heads into its final 12 months.

“As is the club’s policy, details regarding contract negotiations or transfer activity are kept confidential and do not enter the public domain.

“However, following some recent reports I felt it was imperative to speak publicly and provide balanced clarity on the situation.

“The offer of a new long-term contract has been on the table for Ryan for some time.

“In September 2018, at the request of Ryan’s representative, negotiations were paused to allow the player to focus entirely on his football.

“He went on to have an outstanding season, with seven goals and 13 assists helping the club secure a fifth successive season of Premier League football.

“During that time, I have been – and continue to be – in regular dialogue with Ryan’s representative, and have made it clear to both him and the player that our contract offer remains on the table.”

That places real doubt over Fraser’s future at Bournemouth and might persuade Arsenal to make a move for the winger this summer.

He’s been in England since 2013 after leaving Aberdeen in a £400,000 move.

Fraser spent some time out on loan at Ipswich in the 2015/16 season, but has been a regular for Howe ever since – making over 25 Premier League appearances in each of the last three seasons.
