The Hoops returned to training at the start of last week, a mere three weeks after winning the Scottish Cup against Hearts to seal their third consecutive domestic treble, and Neil Lennon’s squad travelled to Austria on Monday for some warm-weather tutelage.
Their first bounce game kicked off this evening against Pinkafeld, who currently play their football in Austria’s third tier, and it took until beyond the half-hour mark for Griffiths – who played from the start – to tap-in his first goal for the Hoops since a 3-0 win over Hamilton last November.
As you’d probably expect, the Celtic faithful were absolutely delighted to see their No.9 back in goalscoring form:
Griffiths managed just six goals last season as he was given most of the campaign off to deal with problems in his personal life, but how many goals do you reckon he could be capable of scoring in 2019/20, provided he stays fit?
