Italian Media Claim Leeds Have Offered Francesco Totti a Deal to Bring Him Out of Retirement

Francesco Totti has been offered a deal to come out of retirement by Leeds United – according to reports in his native Italy today.

Roma legend Totti is now 42 but was playing for the Serie A giants as recently as 2017, before deciding to finally hang-up his boots and take up a boardroom role with his boyhood club.

However, things recently turned sour between Totti and the Roma hierarchy with the World Cup winner ending his 30-year association on incredibly sour terms last week, slamming the US owners and accusing them of excluding him from major decisions.

That has led to the extraordinary claim from Totti’s former team-mate
Marco Borriello, who said via Sky Italia, as per TMW: “I know that a great leader of an English team has made him a proposal to go back to playing football. Radrizzani of Leeds? I don’t know.”

And not too long after that, Fox Sports Italia reported that the proposal has likely come from Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds because of the way in which Borriello answered the question.

Earlier this week, we told you how Leeds have been linked with a move for Gigi Buffon – so what exactly is going on in the recruitment department at Elland Road?
