Juan Mata Signs New Man Utd Deal and Lauds Solskjaer’s ‘Exciting Vision’

Juan Mata has signed a new two-year deal at Manchester United this evening – whilst lauding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s ‘exciting vision’ for the Red Devils.

The Spanish World Cup winner has put pen-to-paper on a new contract until end of the 2020/21 season, with the option of one more, which would take Mata to the age of 34 at the time of its expiry.

Despite being in his early thirties, Mata has spoken of his excitement at the upcoming Premier League campaign under Solskjaer, with the ex-Chelsea and Valencia play-maker publicly putting his faith in the Norwegian coach, despite the club’s underwhelming start to this summer’s transfer market.

Speaking via the official Man Utd website, Mata said: “It is a real honour to continue to represent this amazing club and our incredible fans.

“I have been at Manchester United for five years and I am proud to call Old Trafford my home.

“I am looking forward to working with Ole and his fantastic coaching staff – the vision that they have for the club is truly exciting and I am so happy that I will be a part of that.”

Well, with only Dan James being signed by United so far this month, and with the transfer window closing early this year, what should United fans make of Juan Mata’s new deal?

Is it a positive?
