The 32-year-old was signed by the Hoops on a two-year deal on August 31 2018 by then manager Brendan Rodgers after impressing against the Hoops during a stint with Kilmarnock.
Mulumbu joined Celtic not long after the Premiership champions’ failed public pursuit of John McGinn, but things quickly turned sour for the powerful holding midfielder, who struggled to break into the Celtic first-team.
In total, Mulumbu managed just one Premiership appearance for the Bhoys, and three in all competitions, before spending the second-half of last season back on-loan at Killie, and when asked about the DR Congo international, Lennon was quick to confirm his exit.
Speaking via the Daily Mail: “Mulumbu is free. He is away, so there is not a future here for him.”
So, Mulumbu’s brief spell at Celtic is well and truly over, but could he do a job for another club in Scotland next season?
