Motherwell CEO Alan Burrows Explains Their Thinking on Accepting Celtic’s David Turnbull Bid

Alan Burrows has explained why Motherwell have accepted Celtic’s bid for David Turnbull.

It was confirmed yesterday, via Twitter, that the Fir Park club had agreed a fee for the potential sale of the highly-rated creative midfielder.

That comes after weeks of speculation linking Turnbull with a move to the Scottish champions.

He scored 15 goals and made four assists in 28 games for Motherwell last season, emerging from the club’s youth team to become the star man in Stephen Robinson’s side.

And now Celtic believe he’s good enough to become Neil Lennon’s first signing since becoming permanent manager.

While it makes sense for Celtic to buy, why are Motherwell selling? The record fee they would be receiving is the biggest factor in that, as Burrows has explained to many fans via Twitter since the news broke last night:

That explains a lot if you’re a Motherwell fan.

Now it’s up to Turnbull to decide if he wants to join Celtic with negotiations between him and the club over his contract set to take place.
