Scott Brown Gives His Take on Celtic’s David Turnbull Transfer Saga

Celtic captain Scott Brown has given his take on the David Turnbull transfer saga – and hinted that the midfielder should prioritise winning trophies.

The 19-year-old looked set to join the Hoops after his current club Motherwell went public with the news that a fee in the region of £3 million had been agreed for the player, who was voted Scotland’s Young Player of the Year for the 2018/19 season.

However, Celtic released a statement on Friday afternoon revealing the deal had stalled after being unable to agree on terms with Turnbull’s agent – and it remains to be seen whether or not the transfer will be completed.

After returning for the first day of pre-season this morning, Brown was asked for his opinion on the situation:

Do you think Turnbull and his agent will be able to agree a deal with the Celtic hierarchy, or will the exciting central midfielder end up in the English Championship?
