Setback For Rangers’ Nikola Katic After Croatia U21s Beat Denmark

Nikola Katic appears to have suffered a broken nose after Croatia Under 21s’ 1-0 win over Denmark yesterday.

The Rangers defender is with his national Under 21 side ahead of the European Championships kicking off in Italy at the weekend.

Croatia play against Romania in their first game on Tuesday before facing off against France and England in their other two group games.

And Katic may be a doubt for that first match against Romania after injuring his nose in last night’s game.

He last 62 minutes of the 1-0 win and you have to assume he went off due to the injury.

Katic posted this to his Instagram Story:

So far, we haven’t seen any official word from Croatia about Katic’s injury status – so it may just be a precaution ahead of Tuesday’s game.

It shouldn’t be an issue for Rangers either though as they aren’t back in competitive action until July 11th when their Europa League qualifying campaign kicks off.
