David Turnbull has had no shortage of interest from other clubs in a move away from Motherwell this summer.
Celtic appear to be the leading contenders to get his signature after agreeing a record-breaking fee to sign the midfielder.
But the Scottish champions revealed on Twitter last night that they have so far been unable to come to an agreement with the player’s agent.Embed from Getty Images
And that’s placed considerable doubt over Turnbull’s future.
It was reported by the BBC last week that both Celtic and Barnsley had bids for Turnbull knocked back by Motherwell.
While Celtic returned to the Fir Park outfit with an increased offer, Barnsley didn’t.
And it looks like they may be completely out of the race for Turnbull after signing Derby attacking midfielder Luke Thomas on Thursday, per the BBC.Embed from Getty Images
Thomas has signed a four-year deal with the English Championship outfit.
Does his arrival mean Barnsley are no longer interested in Turnbull and he therefore has one less option this summer?
