Steven Gerrard Catches Up With Andrea Pirlo in Madrid

Steven Gerrard caught up with Andrea Pirlo in Madrid ahead of tonight’s Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham.

The Rangers manager is in the Spanish capital as a fan today as his former team go for their sixth European win.

It’s set to be a brilliant game as two of England’s best teams square off to become the champions of Europe.

But no doubt both teams wish they could have the sort of quality Gerrard and Pirlo brought in their playing careers.

Both won the Champions League during their time as players – and actually went head to head twice in finals.

The first time around, in 2005, Gerrard emerged victorious in that famous night in Istanbul.

The second time, it was Pirlo and AC Milan who got some revenge to take the 2007 trophy.

Both looked happy to see each other in Madrid today though:

Just imagine both Gerrard and Pirlo in the same midfield?!
