Video: Ivan Perisic Takes Advantage of Wales’ Shambolic Defending to Score For Croatia

Long-term Manchester United target Ivan Perisic scored for Croatia this afternoon – after some truly shambolic defending from Ryan Giggs‘s Wales side.

The two sides met in Osijek as their attempts to qualify for Euro 2020 continued and it didn’t exactly start well for the Welsh, with James Lawrence’s own-goal after just 17 minutes firing the Croats ahead in-front of their jubilant home fans.

It remained just 1-0 at half-time but it didn’t exactly get any better for Giggs’s men in the second-half, when Perisic pounced in the 48th minute after some pretty lacklustre clearances saw the ball drop at the feet of the in-form Inter Milan winger, who simply couldn’t miss from that sort of range:

Perisic turned 30 earlier this year, and famously missed out on a move to Manchester United in the summer of 2017 when Ed Woodward wouldn’t meet Inter’s price-tag.

But he’s been linked with United once again this summer, and could he be the kind of player required to help kick-start Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s rebuild at Old Trafford?
