Video: Luka Jovic’s Europa League Goals Show Exactly Why Real Madrid Have Signed Him

Luka Jovic’s goals in the Europa League this season show exactly why Real Madrid have signed him.

The Serbian striker has this afternoon made the move to the Spanish giants from Eintracht Frankfurt.

It was reported last month that he could make the switch and he’s had to wait until now to seal the reported €65million deal.

But why have Madrid moved to sign Jovic? His 17 goals in the Bundesliga last season definitely help, but it’s probably his Europa League heroics that have done it.

Jovic hit 10 goals in 14 games in the competition as Frankfurt went all the way to the semi-finals before losing to Chelsea on penalties.

And when you see all of those goals, it’s easy to understand why Madrid have went for Jovic quickly:

Jovic looks like he could be a very good number nine for Madrid.

And it makes you wonder what the future holds for Karim Benzema, who is the current number nine at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Frenchman has been at Madrid for 10 years now and has scored 222 goals in 465 appearances.

But he’s 31 and both parties may decide the time is right to go their separate ways.
