Video: Zenit Saint Petersburg Fans Unveil Brilliant Pyro Tribute to Fernando Ricksen

Fans of Russian club Zenit Saint Petersburg have unveiled a stunning pyrotechnic tribute to Rangers hero Fernando Ricksen.

As Gers fans will be all too aware, former captain Ricksen has been suffering from Motor Neurone Disease for several years now, and is currently battling the debilitating illness whilst in a hospice in Aridrie.

But the ex-Holland international’s spirits will no doubt be lifted after seeing the Russian ultras put his name up in lights – almost literally.

A video has began circulating on social media today showing supporters of the Russian club standing in-front of a massive banner featuring the caption ‘Never Give Up, Fernando!’, complete with an image of Ricksen during his pomp.

Moreover, in the clip, the fans are heard chanting ‘Fernando Ricksen’ over and over in tribute to their hero.

The official Rangers Twitter account paid tribute to the picture by giving it a retweet and simply adding a blue heart emoji.

A very nice tribute indeed.
