Olivier Ntcham’s reported £15million move to Marseille has stalled due to the Ligue 1 club not being able to afford him.
The French midfielder is believed to be available for a move away from Celtic this summer and reports have been linking him with Marseille.
But apparently there won’t be any switch to the Orange Velodrome until they manage to sell the club.
That’s according to goal.com‘s Robin Bairner, who this morning tweeted:
Bairner has been a trustworthy source in the past for news linking Celtic to France, most notably covering Timo Weah and Odsonne Edouard’s moves to the Scottish champions.
As for Marseille, the sanctions of Financial Fair Play are looming large and it’s believed they’ll either have to sell by June or offload a number of their top stars to survive.
Therefore, their move for Ntcham looks unrealistic this summer unless they can get a quick resolution to their current financial issues.
