Barcelona Swoop to Sign West Brom’s English Teenager Striker Louie Barry

Barcelona have confirmed the signing of English teenager Louie Barry from West Brom this afternoon.

The La Liga giants posted a tweet from their official account earlier this afternoon sharing the news of the 16-year-old’s move to the Nou Camp, who will play for the Catalan club’s under-19 A side throughout the 2019/20 season:

According to the Evening Standard, Barry has opted to join Barca after interest from French giants PSG and after deciding to turn down the offer of a professional contract from the Baggies to play in the English Championship.

We’re not expecting to see Barry in the Barcelona first-team anytime soon, but he has signed a three-year deal, so he must be considered a pretty special talent, eh?

What do you think of the move, and should more British players go and try their luck on the continent at a young age?
