Filip Benkovic Confirms He Won’t Be Returning to Celtic in Goodbye Instagram Message

Filip Benkovic has confirmed he won’t be returning to Celtic in the forthcoming season via his Instagram account today.

The Croatian centre-back joined the Hoops on-loan from Leicester City for the 2018/19 season and ended up being a hit amongst the club’s supporters, despite a spate of injuries interrupting his time in Scottish football.

As we told you back in early May, there was hope that Benkovic would perhaps be a Celtic player again this season after both the player and Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers publicly saying they’d be open to the idea.

However, it seems joining up with the Premier League club for pre-season training has changed someone’s mind:

He’s only 21, so there’s still time for Benkovic to perhaps come back to Celtic in the future, don’t you think?

And do you think Benkovic will be able to cut the mustard in the English top-flight?
