Celtic Target Tommy Smith Left Out of Two Huddersfield Friendlies in One Day as Speculation Grows

Celtic target Tommy Smith was left out of two Huddersfield friendlies in one day as speculation over a proposed move to Glasgow grows on social media.

According to the Huddersfield Examiner, the 27-year-old right-back has been chased by Neil Lennon’s Hoops for several weeks now, and it seems the Northern Irishman is zeroing in on his latest transfer target.

Celtic have been known to be in the market for defensive reinforcements during the current transfer window following the Dedryck Boyata, Mikael Lustig and Filip Benkovic, and Christopher Jullien has already arrived in a £7 million deal from Toulouse.

And according to the Daily Record, Smith didn’t take part in either of Huddersfield’s two bounce games at their Austrian training camp today and is said to be heading back to the UK.

The news has filtered out to Celtic fans on social media, with many expecting the deal to go through by the end of the week:
