James Tavernier Takes to Instagram to Mark 4-Year Rangers Anniversary Amid Newcastle United Links

James Tavernier has taken to Instagram to mark the four-year anniversary of signing for Rangers amid links to old club Newcastle United.

It was four years ago to this day that the Ibrox captain signed on for the club.

He moved alongside Martyn Waghorn from Wigan in a joint £200,000 transfer, but fans knew little about the full-back.

Since then, though, he’s kicked on to play 197 games over four seasons and become a big part of Steven Gerrard’s squad.

Today, Tavernier has been linked with a move to Newcastle – the team he started his career with.

Per The Daily Record, the Daily Mail have reported that Steve Bruce wants to make Tavernier one of his first signings since replacing Rafa Benitez as manager.

But Tavernier doesn’t look to be focused on that – instead taking to Instagram to mark his four-year anniversary with a post:

Tavernier helped Rangers to an easy 10-0 aggregate victory over St Joseph’s in their Europa League first round qualifier and they’ll now face Progres Niederkorn in the first leg of the second round on Thursday.
