The Gunners have been strongly linked with Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, with Hoops boss Neil Lennon emphatically insisting their valuation of the 22-year-old is yet to be met.
However, in a rare interview, the son of Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has claimed new bodies are on the way, and insists it’s a pretty exciting time to be a Gooner.
Speaking via the official Arsenal website, Kroenke was asked to give supporters a message regarding transfers, and he said: “I would say ‘be excited’.
“There are a few things that I know our group are working on, and a few things we hopefully have on the doorstep.
“Nothing is ever a done deal until it’s a done deal, obviously, but we know we have key areas we want to address in our squad, both now and in the future.
“Our entire football operations staff have a great grasp on that and I’ve encouraged them to be as aggressive as possible.”
Arsenal have only completed one major signing so far this summer, with 18-year-old Brazilian striker Gabriel Martinelli joining from Ituano.
The Mirror are one of many tabloids who have linked Arsenal with a move for Wilfried Zaha, but any deal for the Crystal Palace forward seems some way off at the moment.
But what do you think of Kroenke’s comments?
Will he eventually be able to strike a deal for Tierney and Zaha?
