No Place For Billy Gilmour On Chelsea’s Japan Tour Squad

Billy Gilmour was unable to make Chelsea‘s squad for their tour of Japan.

The Scottish midfielder made his first team debut in their clash with Bohemians last week and followed that up with another impressive performance against St Patrick’s.

Some may have thought that Gilmour could be given a chance by Lampard as the new Stamford Bridge boss has to deal with a transfer ban over this window as well as the January window.

But Gilmour has been unable to earn a spot in the experienced Chelsea squad that arrived in Japan days ago.

Per, Lampard has named a 24-man travelling party that doesn’t involve many young players.

It now begs the question – will Gilmour move away from Chelsea on loan this summer to get first team football?

The Scotland Under 21 international spoke earlier this year about his desire to go out on loan so his absence from the Chelsea squad perhaps suggests that’s a possibility.
