Rangers are the favourites to sign Daniel Sturridge on a free transfer this summer, after odds were slashed on Steven Gerrard‘s side snapping up the striker.
Sturridge is still only 29, and spent the majority of last season fit, but failed to break back into Liverpool’s star-studded starting XI under Jurgen Klopp, despite a goal of the season contender against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last September.
Sturridge was an un-used sub in the Reds’ Champions League Final win over Spurs last month, and he was let go by the Anfield giants a few days after the triumph following the expiry of his contract.
And according to odds compilers Oddschecker, the price of Gerrard’s side signing Sturridge have been slashed from 16/1 to just 6/4.
Moreover, the Sun are reporting that more than 60 per cent of all bets have been piled on Ibrox being the ex-England international’s next destination.
Of course, signing a player of Sturridge’s calibre would come with a hefty pay packet, but could he really end up playing his football in the Scottish Premiership next season?
