Kyle Lafferty‘s second spell as a Rangers player is over this afternoon after the Ibrox club confirmed his contract had been terminated by mutual consent.
The Northern Ireland international returned to the Glasgow giants last summer after a fruitful spell with Hearts, with his return to the Gers seemingly like a no-brainer signing at the time.
However, the 31-year-old failed to hit same heights as his first spell as a Rangers player and never really managed to break into Steven Gerrard’s starting XI.
Lafferty actually managed 31 appearances for the Light Blues last season, but most were made from the subs bench and in cup competitions, and it seems there aren’t too many Rangers fans who are terribly sad to see him depart:
Do you think Lafferty was given enough of a chance to prove himself under Gerrard?
And could a return to Tynecastle with Hearts be on the cards?
