Video: Steven Gerrard Insists He’s Never Spoken to Andy Gray About Winning the Premiership

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has insisted he never spoken to Andy Gray about winning the Premiership in the forthcoming season.

As reported by the Daily Record, ex-Rangers and Scotland striker Gray was quoted as saying he had talked to Gerrard and the Gers boss was ‘convinced’ he could end the Ibrox club’s long wait for a first Premiership title since 2011.

But Gerrard has been slightly bemused by the reports, and has categorically denied saying anything of the sort, admitting such a statement would be naive – even going as far as to say that such a claim ‘would never come out of my mouth’.

Gerrard addressed the comments 3:50 into his weekly press conference ahead of Thursday’s Europa League second-leg with St. Joseph’s in Glasgow:

What do you think of the slightly bizarre spat?

Why would Gray claim Gerrard said something so emphatic if he didn’t?
