John McGinn scored a ridiculous goal as Aston Villa beat Charlton this afternoon.
The Scottish midfielder started the game as Dean Smith’s side took on the Addicks at The Valley.
And he topped off a good display with a simply stunning goal in the second half – as well as another not long before.
Seizing on a loose ball, McGinn beat a defender before coolly sidestepping the goalkeeper to fire home.
He’s Scottish, but this is something a Brazilian would be proud of:
If that’s the sort of quality we can expect from McGinn in the coming season then it shouldn’t be long before he’s linked with a move to one of the English Premier League’s top clubs.
Aston Villa kick off their Premier League campaign against Tottenham and it will be interesting to see how the Scottish midfielder copes with the step up in level.
